Er verliess Portugal wahrscheinlich im Hochsommer 1482, fuhr die westafrikanischen K&amp;uuml;ste bis etwa Ghana entlang, wo er seine Vorr&amp;auml;te noch erg&amp;auml;nzte. Dann fuhr er weiter entlang der zentralafrikanischen K&amp;uuml;ste, wo er zum ersten Mal in der Bucht von Loango (n&amp;ouml;rdlich von Pointe Noire, Republik Kongo) Anker warf. Dann fuhr er weiter nach S&amp;uuml;den bis S&amp;#227;o Antonio de Zaira (= Haifischkap) am Kongo-Fluss. Er erforschte den Fluss ein St&amp;uuml;ck und sandte einige Botschafter zum dortigen Herrscher.&lt;br&gt;<br /> Dann fuhr er weiter nach S&amp;uuml;den bis zum Kap Santa Maria in Angola. Von dort kehrte zum Kongo zur&amp;uuml;ck und kam 1484 wieder in Lissabon an.&lt;br&gt;<br /> 1485 unternahm er erneut eine Reise zum Kongo und an die angolanische K&amp;uuml;ste. Diesmal stiess er weiter nach S&amp;uuml;den vor, und zwar bis Kaap Kruis, n&amp;ouml;rdlich von Walvis Baai im heutigen Namibia.&lt;br&gt;<br /> Auf dem R&amp;uuml;ckweg machte er wieder am Kongo halt und fuhr den Strom bis zu den Yelala-F&amp;auml;llen hinauf.&lt;br&gt;<br /> Man nimmt an, dass er auf dieser Fahrt gestorben ist.</div> Ramses11
